Battle of Barnet Banners
Barnet Museum volunteers have created over 90 replica banners representing nobles who fought at the Battle of Barnet. After the success of having them up on the High Street lampposts in 2018, they returned in April 2021 to mark the 550th anniversary of the battle. Now in April 2023, they are back up once again. The effort was led by Wars of the Roses historian and researcher Geoffrey Wheeler supported by Museum volunteers.
We also have a exhibition space in The Spires where some of the banners are displayed along side our current exhibitions.
