Spires Exhibition of local History

2/7/2022

Actually it is an "old" new exhibition. Photographs which formed a display in Hadley Highstone Memorial Hall in the 1990s are exhibited again by Barnet Museum.

The display was put together by Rob Brimson, Lyn Brimson and Jane Downey. The early photos are a record of times gone (but not necessarily forgotten) in Hadley and Barnet. Come and revel in a bit of nostalgia.

The exhibition is free, we are grateful to Lyn Brimson who donated the display to Barnet Museum and, of course, we are grateful ,as ever, to The Spires management for letting us use one of their unit.

Have there been any educational initiatives or school programs associated with the exhibition to educate younger generations about the local history?

Hello
Enjoyed this page thanks. Do you know if I can find out if the Spires (or any other) Collection) includes any photographs of Basket's Lot (formerly Baskett's Lot) which was and remains right next to the Highstone? My interest is that it was built in around 1776 by/for my 6x Great Uncle Turpin Bastick.

I would be very grateful for any information and/or images.you may have.
Thanks again
